Do you have Dry Eyes?

Do you suffer from dry, itchy, or burning eyes? You’re not alone.

Traditional dry eye treatments like eye drops, hot compresses, and eyelid scrubs may offer temporary relief, but they fail to address the underlying cause of the condition.

At Eyecare Project, we offer convenient, personalised, and comprehensive dry eye assessments and treatments, addressing everything from dry eyes to meibomian gland dysfunction. Our advanced therapies improve tear quality and eye comfort, giving you clear, comfortable vision for everyday life.

Full Dry eye assessment

A full dry eye assessment at Eyecare Project is a 40-60 minute consultation designed to diagnose and manage dry eye disease.

It includes a comprehensive evaluation of your tear film, meibomian glands, and ocular surface using advanced tools like infrared meibography and tear break-up time tests. We also take multiple baseline microscope photographs and scans to track your improvement over time.

Our in-depth approach ensures a personalised treatment plan that addresses the root causes of your symptoms.

We use Medicare’s Easyclaim system to submit your rebate on the spot, ensuring you receive your rebate of $64.60 immediately. You may have experienced this system at your GP, as it is widely used by doctors.

Zest deep eyelid & Eyelash cleaning

A ZEST Deep Eyelid and Eyelash Cleaning consultation at Eyecare Project is a highly effective, in-office treatment designed to address dry eye symptoms caused by blepharitis and demodex mites.

This painless procedure uses a specialised gel formulated by Zocular® to exfoliate and thoroughly cleanse the eyelids and lashes, removing debris and opening clogged meibomian glands.

During the consultation, our optometrists will assess your eye health, take baseline photographs, and customise the treatment to your condition. The result is immediate relief from irritation, healthier tear production, and improved overall eye comfort.

Lumenis OptiLight IPL

Intense Pulsed Light is an innovative technology that produces polychromatic light through a series of calibrated and precisely sequenced pulses. This procedure is relatively painless and does not involve injections or needles. The energy, spectrum, and timing are carefully adjusted to stimulate the meibomian glands, helping them regain their normal function.

Meibomian Gland Stimulation:
Lumenis IPL targets blocked meibomian glands, which are responsible for over 80% of dry eye cases, improving oil production, restoring tear stability, and enhancing gland function. It also improves meibomian gland morphology and functionality for long-term relief.

Reduce Inflammation:
Lumenis IPL reduces pro-inflammatory mediators, effectively lowering inflammation levels.

Alleviate Abnormal Blood Vessels:
By targeting and eradicating abnormal blood vessels, Lumenis IPL helps reduce inflammation at its source.

Improve Tear Breakup Time:
Lumenis IPL significantly extends tear breakup time and decreases tear osmolarity for longer-lasting relief.

Decrease Demodex:
Lumenis IPL reduces demodex mites, lowering the risk of infections such as styes and preventing bacterial overgrowth on the eyelids.

Lumenis IPL not only relieves symptoms but also slows the progression of chronic dry eye.
